Dog Grooming Prices in Washington and Oregon: 2026 Price Index

Across 174 Washington and Oregon groomers that publish their prices online, the median starting price for a full groom is $75, a bath and brush is $40, and a nail trim is $15. Price climbs with your dog's size: the typical full groom starts around $80 for a small dog and $128 for an extra large one.

These are real published prices, collected from groomers' own websites on October 1, 2026, not estimates or national averages. Use them to sanity check a quote, then ask your groomer for an exact price, because coat condition, matting and temperament still change the bill.

PNW dog grooming prices at a glance

Median is the middle starting price. The middle-half column shows the range where half of groomers fall, which is a better guide than the extremes.

Published starting prices from 174 Pacific Northwest groomer websites, checked October 1, 2026. Each groomer counts once per row. Lowest listed price per groomer for each service.

What a full groom costs by dog size

Many groomers price by size or weight. Where a groomer listed separate prices, here is the typical starting price for each size. Size labels are each groomer's own (small, medium, large, extra large), so a 40 lb dog can land in different brackets at different salons.

Published starting prices from 174 Pacific Northwest groomer websites, checked October 1, 2026. Each groomer counts once per row. Size rows include only groomers that publish size-based prices.

Mobile groomer vs salon

Mobile groomers come to your driveway, so their starting prices run higher. Our sample has far fewer mobile groomers, so treat that column as a rough guide. Our mobile grooming cost guide covers what the extra cost pays for.

City snapshots

City samples are small, so we only show a price where at least three groomers in that city publish one. A blank means not enough published prices yet, not that the service is unavailable.

Numbers in parentheses are how many groomers in that city published the price. Checked October 1, 2026.

What pushes a grooming bill above the starting price

A starting price assumes a dog in good condition with a normal coat. These are the most common reasons a final bill lands higher:

  • Coat type and length. Doodles, poodles and double-coated breeds take longer; see our goldendoodle grooming guide.
  • Matting. Dematting is slow and often billed by time; see what to expect with a severely matted dog.
  • Temperament and handling. Anxious or reactive dogs may need extra time or a second groomer.
  • Add-ons. Nail grinding, teeth brushing and deshedding are usually extra; the median add-on in our sample was $10.
  • Tip. Most owners tip on top of the bill; our tipping guide covers how much.

How we collected these prices

On October 1, 2026 we visited the websites of 533 Washington and Oregon groomers listed on GroomLocal. 174 of them publish a price list online; the rest ask you to call or book for a quote. We recorded each listed price with its service, dog size and source page, and kept a price only if the exact number appears on the groomer's own page.

For each service we count every groomer once, using the lowest price it lists, which is usually its smallest-dog or starting price. Hourly rates, self-serve dog wash prices and surcharges for matting or difficult handling are left out. These are published starting prices from a sample of groomer websites, not a market survey, and groomers change prices, so confirm before you book.

Compare groomers near you

Prices vary more between groomers in the same city than between cities, so the best way to save is to compare a few local options. Browse groomers in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, Vancouver, Spokane or Eugene, or request quotes from several groomers at once.
